President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of 65 ambassadors and high commissioners to Nigeria's diplomatic missions worldwide, following their confirmation by the Senate last December. The appointments include 31 career diplomats and 34 non-career nominees. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has begun diplomatic procedures, including seeking agrément from relevant host countries where required. Some countries have already granted approval for designated envoys, while others are still processing Nigeria's requests in line with standard international practice. The President has also directed the ministry to commence induction and preparatory programmes for the ambassadors-designate ahead of their deployment.
