... Says Renewed Hope Initiative boosting opportunities for women, youths The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has called on state governments across the country to support the developmental programmes championed by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, saying such collaboration will expand opportunities for vulnerable women and youths. Obasa made the appeal while speaking with journalists at the State House after a brief meeting with the First Lady at her office in the Presidential Villa, Abuja. He said ongoing interventions under the First Lady's Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) have continued to make meaningful impact in critical sectors, particularly among the less privileged. According to a statement issued by Senior Special Assistant to the First Lady on Media, Busola Kukoyi, Obasa said greater involvement of state governments will help sustain and deepen the benefits of the programmes at the grassroots level. The Lagos Assembly Speaker noted that the initiative has already created momentum for development-focused interventions and urged subnational governments to seize the opportunity to improve the welfare of citizens. Obasa commended Mrs Tinubu for what he described as the transformative impact of her programmes, particularly in empowering women and young people across the country. He expressed optimism that with stronger collaboration between the federal and state governments, the reach of the First Lady's initiatives would expand further, bringing more relief to vulnerable groups. The Speaker also explained that his visit to the First Lady was partly to extend warm greetings during the overlapping observance of Ramadan by Muslims and Lent by Christians.
