Rising security tensions in the Middle East could force a planned invitational tournament involving Nigeria's Super Eagles to be relocated to Europe. The Super Eagles are billed to participate in the competition scheduled to take place in Jordan later this month, alongside fellow 2026 World Cup qualifiers Iran national football team. According to the original schedule, Nigeria will face Iran on March 27 in Amman before taking on hosts Jordan national football team four days later. The friendly tournament is designed to help the participating teams fine-tune preparations for upcoming World Cup qualifying matches. However, the ongoing attacks involving the United States and Israel against Iran have created uncertainty around hosting the event in the region. Organisers are now considering alternative arrangements, including moving the Super Eagles' clash with Jordan to a European venue during the international break. Another option under review is relocating the entire tournament to Europe. A final decision on the matter is expected to be announced before the scheduled March international fixtures.
