The All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos state chapter, Friday inaugurated with a charge to work as a united body for the success of the party in the state and at the forthcoming presidential election. Addressing the newly sworn in exco, the party chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi urged the executive that their objective is to work as a team and as a united body to reciprocate the good gesture president Bola Tinubu has done to the state by ensuring he is voted for massively in the presidential election in January 16,2027. "You came in at a time we are very, very close the emergence of our candidates, that are going to fly the flag of our party,all eyes are on us,the question the people are asking us is that, are we going to change the narrative, that will consolidate on our achievements as a party since 1999, they are asking us are we going to change the narrative of our performance in the presidential election we witnessed in 2023. "That particular question should preoccupy our mind, and it is a task that must be done collectively. It is our own way of showing appreciation to the man who made all of us politically,the man that has contributed in no small way in deepening our democracy in Nigeria. "What are we going to do to reciprocate that particular gesture, the only thing we can do to show appreciation is for all of us to go all out,and make sure we deliver our votes in totality come January 16,2027. We can only achieve this with unity of purpose."Ojelabi charges the executive. The party chairman urged members of the executives Council to jettison any caucus alliance,but to see themselves as an APC member and their loyalty should be to the party and not to any caucus. "Today irrespective of the group that you belong, today you just have to drop that group and realise that you are no longer a member of any group rather you are the symbol of our party. "Don't let anybody threaten you that, is either you belong here or there to survive,let them see you that you are a free person as somebody representing the party. "Don't be caught attending any caucus meeting other than APC meeting. I am begging all of you, I am pleading that the responsibility of consolidation lies in our unity." The party chairman did charge the exco that with the oath of office they have taken they automatically belong to the leadership position in their various local government areas. "They expect you to give a feedback of what is going in the state,ward meeting local government meeting is very critical.As as a member of state executive you work as a team. We enjoin you all to let us come together and work as a team,there is no time,work starts immediately."
