The police in Lagos on Friday arraigned a 39-year-old facility manager, Ayobami Bogunbolu, before an Ogudu Magistrates' Court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing N354,000 from his employer. Bogunbolu, who resides in Alapere, Ketu, Lagos, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy and stealing. He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges. The prosecutor, Inspector Donjor Perezi, told the court that the defendant committed the offences with some others, who are still at large, on Dec. 29, 2025, at Avenue Estate, Ogudu GRA Phase II, Ogudu-Ojota, Lagos. Perezi alleged that the defendant stole the N354,000 belonging to Avenue Estate Landlord Association. He said that the estate chairman transferred the money to the defendant to purchase 140 palm trees, 150 flowers, and 20 litres of fuel for the estate, but he failed to purchase the items. The prosecutor alleged that the defendant instead, converted the money to his personal use. Perezi said that all efforts made to get the defendant to refund the money proved abortive. He said that the offences contravened Sections 280 287(7) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. A report by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) stated that Section 287(7) stipulates a seven-year jail term for stealing from one's employer, while Section 411 provides a two-year jail term for conspiracy Source: https://thesun.ng/facility-manager-arraigned-over-alleged-n354000-theft/
