COAS Seeks Stronger Military Education Partnership With US Defence University‎

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎By Chimezie Godfrey ‎ ‎The Chief of Army Staff, Waidi Shaibu, has reiterated the Nigerian Army's commitment to strengthening professional military education through collaboration with international defence institutions. ‎ ‎Shaibu stated this on Thursday while receiving a delegation from the Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU) Nigeria Programme at Army Headquarters, Abuja. ‎ ‎According to him, professional military education remains essential for building a modern fighting force capable of addressing emerging security threats. ‎ ‎"Professional military education remains a cornerstone in building a modern and adaptive fighting force capable of confronting the myriad of security challenges confronting the nation," he said. ‎ ‎The army chief added that participation in specialised training and international academic programmes would improve defence management practices and strengthen institutional knowledge. ‎ ‎Earlier, the delegation leader, Miguel Casteyanoss, said DSCU's partnership with the Nigerian Army focuses on building institutional capacity and strengthening defence governance systems. ‎ ‎He said the university also supports partner nations through specialised courses and advisory services aimed at improving logistics management and policy development.
