Customs, foundation donate 112 bags of rice to FOMWAN - Realnews Magazine

THE Nigeria Customs Service, NCS has donated assorted food items to the Federation of Muslim Women Association in Nigeria, FOMWAN, in Bauchi State. Abdullahi Waida, Controller of Customs, Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone D, said this during the presentation of the items on Thursday in Bauchi. He said the gesture was part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), aimed at supporting communities, especially during the Ramadan fast. Represented by Bappa Wakili, Deputy Controller of Customs, Waida said that FOMWAN was the first organisation to benefit from the initiative in the state. He commended the organisation for community development programmes aimed at impacting lives of women and children in the state. The items donated include 12 bags of rice and three bags of maize for distribution to deserving families. Meanwhile, the Al-Wunti Khair Foundation donated 100 bags of rice to the association. Hajiya Habiba Usman, FOMWAN Chairperson, commended the NCS and the foundation for the gesture, adding it would improve the social and economic wellbeing of vulnerable households.
