Samsung Nigeria has entered into a strategic partnership with Access Bank Samsung Electronics' latest flagship smartphone lineup, the Galaxy S26 series, represents a fusion of advanced artificial intelligence and enhanced privacy technology designed to make devices more intuitive and secure for users. Speaking during an interview with Arise News, Stephen Okwara, Samsung's head of product management for mobile experience, described the Galaxy S26 as a major leap in AI-powered smartphones. He explained that the new devices integrate what Samsung calls 'agentic AI,' a system capable of going beyond simple voice or text prompts to independently carry out tasks for users. According to Okwara, the Galaxy S26 series combines a super smartphone with advanced AI technology, enabling the device to understand user intent and automate complex actions. The phone can organise activities such as launching apps, scheduling trips, booking meetings and setting reminders with minimal user input. The executive noted that Samsung's push into AI-driven smartphones began with earlier Galaxy models that introduced prompt-based commands capable of executing complex requests. Another key feature introduced with the Galaxy S26 lineup is a privacy display, designed to prevent others from viewing the user's screen in public spaces. When activated, the display narrows the viewing angle, so only the person holding the phone can clearly see the content. Okwara stated that the feature eliminates the need for external privacy screen protectors, which often reduce brightness and visibility, while still maintaining full display resolution for the user. The smartphone also incorporates AI-driven call screening, which automatically interacts with unknown callers to request their name and purpose for calling. The responses are displayed in real time, allowing users to decide whether to answer the call.
