In a video circulating online, the man complained that fuel was about ₦900 just a day earlier before the latest increase. He expressed anger over the continuous rise in petrol prices despite Nigeria being an oil-producing country. According to him, the steady increase, from around ₦200 in the past to ₦600, then ₦900 and now over ₦1,000 per litre, has placed a heavy burden on citizens. The visibly upset man said the situation has pushed many Nigerians to their limits, adding that people should not be intimidated by threats of arrest when they express frustration over the economic hardship.
