Her Excellency, Senator (Dr.) Oluremi Tinubu, CON, the First Lady of Nige­ria, stood at the podium, her presence commanding attention, as she addressed a gathering of esteemed women from across the nation. The occasion was the Interfaith Break­ing of Fast (Iftar/Lent) hosted by the Nige­ria Governors' Spouses' Forum, alongside women from various walks of life, at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja. The event, held on March 5, 2026, brought together an impressive array of women, in­cluding former First Lady of Nigeria, H.E. Dame Patience Jonathan; the Wife of the Vice President, H.E. Hajia Nana Shettima; the Wife of the Senate President, H.E. In her address, the First Lady reflected on the significance of the simultaneous Chris­tian Lenten season and Muslim Ramadan fast, describing it as a divine call for unity. "Since the Ramadan fast and the Lenten season began together, it was like God was speaking to us as a nation," she said, empha­sizing that this alignment serves as a testa­ment to the necessity of harmonious living. Her Excellency stressed that peaceful personal coexistence is a vital counter to in­security and division, urging the gathering to serve with "excellence, compassion, and integrity. "Drawing from her nearly four-decade in­terfaith marriage to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, she spoke passionately about reli­gious harmony, inspiring the audience with her personal experiences and conviction. The First Lady's message was not limited to the audience present; it resonated beyond the walls of the State House Banquet Hall, echoing across the nation.
