Boko Haram terrorists have paraded about 300 villagers abducted during a recent attack on Ngoshe community in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State. The terrorists paraded their victims in a viral video that surfaced on X on Saturday. The footage was posted by an X user identified as OurFaveOnlineDoc (@OurFavOnlineDoc), who claimed the terrorists released the video following the raid on the community. Sunday PUNCH gathered that the attack occurred around midnight on Wednesday, forcing thousands of residents to flee to the neighbouring Pulka community, where many have been sleeping on the road and in school buildings. Eyewitnesses said the assault lasted several hours, leaving panic and destruction in its wake before the air component of Operation Hadin Kai was deployed to repel the attackers and disperse them into the surrounding forest. In the 30-second video, several armed men believed to be insurgents were seen carrying rocket-propelled grenades and other sophisticated weapons while waving their black flag. Some of the fighters also appeared to be wearing Nigerian military uniforms while escorting their leader as they walked past villagers seated along a path. The abductees were seated on the ground as the fighters were seen observing one of the daily prayers. Accompanying the video, the X user wrote, "Boko Haram has just released a video showing about 300 kidnapped villagers in Gwoza, Borno State. This is after the terrorists overpowered a military base and killed many people in the attack a few days ago." Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu on Friday urged Nigerians not to succumb to fear in the face of renewed terror attacks in parts of the country. The President said his administration was doing everything within its power to defeat terrorism and restore stability. Tinubu spoke during an interfaith breaking of the fast with members of the Armed Forces and other security agencies at the State House in Abuja. He reaffirmed his administration's determination to overcome terrorism and other threats to Nigeria's peace and unity. The President also expressed confidence that the country would prevail against forces seeking to undermine its stability. Source: https://punchng.com/?p=2083848
