The all Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Abuja chapter has lined up activities scheduled to be executed this year. These activities, in a statement by the FCT chapter chairman, Lady Perpetual Okafor include conducting elections into the leadership of the state executives, Area Councils and Ward offices as soon as possible based on the directive of the national leadership, headed by Hon. Mohammed Magaji. According to the statement, this was scheduled for agreements reached at the AFAN first quarter meeting held in Abuja during which it also reviewed the 2025 work plan. The meeting had representation of farmers from the six Area Councils of FCT. The statement also disclosed that AFAN is planning to have an event titled FCT Farmers and investors interactive session to be held on the 19th of May, 2026 and FCT Farmers Day Celebration which is their annual event that marks the yearly World Food Celebration on 13th October, 2026. The FCT farmers also agreed to ensure active participation in the 2026 Annual Agricultural Show which will be in November, as well pay courtesy visits to relevant agencies, organizations and individuals to seek possible areas of partnership and collaboration.
