Lobi Stars FC on Saturday beat ABS Ilorin 2-0 in week 11 of Nigeria National League, NNL. The stars who played their second game at the McCarthy stadium after a long spell playing outside their home turf did not disappoint as they pulled the trigger in the second minute of the game. Left footed Akile Monday delivered a delightful free kick which was brilliantly met by Onah Peter, who rose high to head home The Ilorin side played brilliant positional football but failed to convert couple of chances they created. Lobi Stars defence marshalled by skipper Solomon Kwambe and Francis Odinaka worked extremely hard to keep the visitors at bay even as man of the match Peter Onah delighted with his skills and passes. But it was substitute Barnabas Imenger Jr who put the icing on the cake in the 90th to send the home fans into wild jubilation. He spotted the keeper off his line and from almost the centre half, calmly hit the ball into the net jubilation. Speaking with Sportwriter at the end of the match, Coach of ABS Ogundeji Jewel lauded his boys for a good performance but noted they made mistakes that resulted in the loss. While Coach of Lobi stars John Onuh praised his lads for their outing. He however, observed that the team need to improve in the midfield and attack as well as work hard to get an away win.
