The former governor of Zamfara State, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has brightened the chances of President Bola Tinubu winning the 2027 presidential election by launching a new political movement to drum up nationwide support for his goal. National facilitators of the movement, Mohammed Abubakar and his deputy, Emmanuel Osita, made the disclosure in a statement they jointly signed and made available to newsmen in Abuja at the weekend. They explained that the statement is to formally inform Nigerians and the international community of the successful formation and registration of a new national political movement identified as 'The Renewed Hope Network' (TRHN). They further noted in the statement that the strategic movement was conceived by Senator Yari, the founder, following extensive consultations with political stakeholders, grassroots leaders, youth organisations, women's groups and former elected officials across the federation, with a common vision of strengthening and sustaining the Renewed Hope agenda currently championed by the administration of President Bola Tinubu. The facilitators, in the statement, described the network as a broad-based national coalition comprising grassroots politicians, respected political actors, notable public figures, community mobilisers, women leaders, youth organisations and a formidable structure of former councillors drawn from all the 774 local government areas of Nigeria. "Our collective resolve is anchored on the conviction that Nigeria is currently on a path of economic recovery, institutional reforms and renewed national optimism under the leadership of President Tinubu. "As patriotic Nigerians and stakeholders in the country's democratic future, we believe it is necessary to consolidate these gains by building a strong grassroots movement that will mobilise support nationwide," the statement read. They further explained that the primary objective of the network is to galvanise massive grassroots support across the federation for the re-election of President Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, while also promoting citizen engagement, political inclusion and national unity. The facilitators also disclosed that arrangements have reached an advanced stage for the official national launch of the movement, which is expected to attract thousands of supporters, political stakeholders, youth leaders, women's groups and representatives from across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. According to the statement, "The network remains committed to strengthening Nigeria's democratic culture, deepening grassroots participation in governance and supporting leadership that prioritises economic growth, national security and social progress." They therefore called on Nigerians of goodwill -- particularly young people, women, community leaders and political stakeholders -- to join the growing national movement aimed at consolidating the Renewed Hope vision for a more prosperous and stable Nigeria.
