A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Prince Oyelude Oladele, has urged the Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Osun chapter, to support APC governorship candidate Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji in the August 15, 2026 election. In a statement at the weekend, Prince Oladele praised Dr. Mrs. Sekinat Bola‑Oyebamiji -- current president of MWAN's Osun State chapter -- as a seasoned medical professional and committed advocate for women's and children's health. He said her leadership has advanced healthcare initiatives, particularly in maternal and child health and community medical outreach. Oladele argued that if Dr. Sekinat Bola‑Oyebamiji becomes First Lady following Oyebamiji's victory, the state's health sector would receive renewed attention, citing plans to prioritize preventive care, rural outreach and stronger support for health workers. "With her wealth of experience in the medical profession and passion for humanitarian service, Osun citizens can expect stronger health advocacy, expanded healthcare programmes and better collaboration between government and medical practitioners," he said. He further said the partnership of a visionary governor and a First Lady with medical expertise would be a unique opportunity to transform healthcare in Osun -- through investments in infrastructure, strengthened primary healthcare centres and wider access to quality services. Oladele called on Osun residents to unite behind Oyebamiji's candidacy, saying their support would help deliver "capable leadership" and significant improvements in healthcare and human development across the state.
